Hello, thanks for stopping by.
I go by MetallicOrwell, and I currently make chiptunes--that is, I use the Furnace tracker to make sequences that will play on real hardware. They are not MIDIs played on a SoundFont or anything of the sort: this is the real deal. It should go without saying none of it is AI-generated, either. My main focus is the almighty Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, though sometimes I will put it in the cuck chair while I play around with other systems, primarily the Super Nintendo, Master System, Sound Blaster (OPL3), PC-98 (OPNA) and even oddball choices like the Ensoniq ES5506. Regardless, I'm an FM guy first and foremost.
I started writing descriptions to explain the process by which I create my pieces, and since I am a writer at heart, they became more and more elaborate and detailed, until eventually I decided to start hosting them here. There isn't much here yet, but these old-school webpages are always under construction, now aren't they?
Incidentally, if you want to talk to me, you can of course leave a comment on one of my YouTube videos, but you can also find me on Discord (same username) if you want to have a longer, nerdier chat.
So, without further ado: here is my writing.
